2024 Summer Camps

Below are the summer camp options for 2024.  While these camps take place at HCS, they are open to the public.  Please click the link below each camp to register. In order to register for more than one camp, you will need to register for each camp individually.

Art Camp

June 3-7 | Incoming 1st-5th Grade: 8:30 AM-11:30 AM

June 3-7 | Incoming 6th-12th Grade: 12:30 PM-3:30 PM

Kids Summer Art Camp (AM): Calling all creative kids who enjoy all things art! Join us for a week of exploration in letting imagination run wild. This week, we will experiment with creating art in all new ways, including art in nature, using found or recycled materials, new painting techniques, and so much more! Get ready for a messy week filled with smiles!

Teen Summer Art Camp (PM): Looking to hone your craft this summer as an artist? Join us this week to develop your drawing skills. This week, we will focus on drawing techniques such as grid drawing, improving proportions, drawing with perspective, shading and value, and more. Whether you're a beginner or advanced, this week is designed to workshop your drawing abilities and give you the skills to draw anything with confidence! 

Camps will be led by Ms. Kelsey Jarkowsky.  Ms. Jarkowsky is the HCS K-12 Art teacher. This camp takes place at Harrisburg Christian School in the Art room. Cost is $185. Minimum # of participants: 8 Maximum # of participants: 18

STEM Camp

June 10-13 | Incoming 4th-6th Grade: 8:00 AM-2:00 PM

June 24-27 | Incoming 1st-3rd Grade: 8:00 AM-2:00 PM

One week STEM camp. Our weekly theme is "Reap What You Sow" and each day has a different theme.  There will be a daily Biblical lesson that ties in with the theme and a time of worship.  Students will also participate in STEM activities that tie into the theme.

Wednesday- The Presence of Christ in our Lives

Thursday- Christ is my Firm Foundation

Camp will be led by Ms. Hailey Saylor, HCS K-5 Specials Teacher and Ms. Jennifer Russell, HCS 1st Grade Teacher.  This camp takes place at Harrisburg Christian School. Cost is $200. Maximum # of participants: 20

Soccer Camp

June 24-28 | Incoming 5th -9th Grade: 9:00 AM-3:00 PM

Camp will be led by Mr. Dan Wertz.  Mr. Wertz is the HCS Head Varsity Boys Soccer Coach and Middle School Girls Soccer Coach.

This camp takes place at Harrisburg Christian School on the soccer field and in the gymnasium. Cost is $250. Minimum # of participants: 15, Maximum # of participants: 50

Basketball Camp

July 8-12 | Incoming 5th -9th Grade: 9:00 AM-12:00 PM

Camp will be led by Mr. James Stargel. Coach Stargel is the HCS Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach (2021 to Present).  He has also served as HCS Head Middle School Boys Basketball Coach (2017 to 2020), is a former HS official (7 years), and has over 20 seasons of coaching recreation league, Middle School, and Varsity Basketball.

This camp takes place in the Harrisburg Christian School gymnasium. Cost is $185. Minimum # of participants: 20 Maximum # of participants: 50

Volleyball Camp

July 15-19 | Incoming 6th -12th Grade: 9:00 AM-3:00 PM

Camp will be led by Mr. Andrew Peters.  After graduating from Huntington High School in 1997, Coach Peters embarked on a distinguished career in the United States Navy, retiring in November 2019. He enjoyed his volleyball playing time during his Navy years, and then transitioned to coaching towards the latter part of his military service. In 2011, he began his coaching journey in San Antonio, TX with Lightning Volleyball Club, followed by coaching roles at UTSA Women's Club team, San Antonio Christian School JV, and Beach Elite Volleyball Club in Virginia Beach, VA. His coaching experience was acknowledged with Coach of the Year honors during his inaugural year at Granby High School in Virginia Beach. He took a brief hiatus from volleyball while in Washington DC, and resumed his coaching in Harrisburg. He spent the last 2 years with Prevail Volleyball Club and now has taken the role of head coach at Harrisburg Christian School for both the varsity boys and varsity girls teams. Andrew’s coaching approach centers on fostering excellence, teamwork, and a deep love for God and a passion for the game.

This camp takes place in the Harrisburg Christian School gymnasium. Cost is $250. Minimum # of participants: 15, Maximum # of participants: 40

"Get Outdoors" Camp

August 5-9 | Incoming 6th -12th Grade: 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM

Camp will be led by HCS teacher, Ms. Hanshaw (soon to be Mrs. Leonhard). When Mrs. Hanshaw isn't teaching science, she loves to be outside with her friends and family. She’s excited to share some of her favorite games and pastimes with you!

Activities for the week will include lawn games, wildlife studies, gardening, outside sports, and other fun interactive kids' games.

This camp takes place at Harrisburg Christian School. Cost is $200 and includes lunch on the final day. Minimum # of participants: 15, Maximum # of participants: 30

AROMA All-Sports Camp is a positive, high-energy youth sports camp for boys and girls age 7-12. Kids will play eight different sports as well as engage in daily Bible curriculum. Camps are held at various churches in the area.  All Coaches are Messiah University student-athletes involved in Messiah Athletics' AROMA Sports Ministry program. Coaches are passionate about combining their love for sport with their desire to follow Christ and use both to positively encourage kids. Click the graphic below to learn more and register.
