Student Life

Students at Harrisburg Christian School find many places to belong among other students who share the same interests and hobbies. Our variety of student organizations and extracurricular activities help to promote community and challenge students to try new things.

Spiritual Emphasis Retreats

Spiritual Emphasis Retreats

Spiritual Emphasis Retreats utilize an experiential learning format to encourage and challenge students spiritually. During the retreats, students and faculty members from HCS and WSCA participate together in a fun team activity designed to teach a particular spiritual principle.

Service Opportunities

Students have opportunities for service from the earliest grades to their senior year, including the annual Day of Service to the greater Harrisburg area. We want to teach students the value of service for Christ's sake and equip them to make an impact by partnering with local organizations.

CSAGH schools compete annually in the Run to Advance Christian Education event.  R.A.C.E. is a community-building fundraising event in which students can participate and make a lasting difference in Christian education.

J-Term is a distinctive educational experience providing students with in-depth, experiential learning in a particular area of interest. All students can participate in fun, interest-based classes both on and off campus. Juniors and seniors in good standing may apply to participate in a J-Term internship where they can shadow a professional and explore a potential career.

Clubs and Organizations

HCS students enjoy participating in clubs and organizations for extracurricular and leadership opportunities. We have an active National Honor Society and Student Council.

Costa Rica Senior Missions Trip

Students from the Senior Class travel to Costa Rica each spring for a Mission Trip with Joshua Expeditions. Prior to travel, they design a VBS "pop up" for students ages 5-12. The ministry is dedicated to providing Bible studies for single moms and their children. Students have the opportunity to use their talents to minister to kids while learning about a different culture. They also enjoy fun activities such as whitewater rafting and relaxing on a catamaran. HCS is excited for students to glorify the Lord as they bless those they minister to and deepen their faith.

Homecoming at HCS is a semi-formal social held on campus. Students grades 9-12 attend and celebrate with dancing, games, and snacks.

Prom is held each year, and is a fun time for students to celebrate school memories and accomplishments with their peers during dinner and dancing.  Games, senior tributes made by the juniors, and presentation of senior gifts are just a few of the engaging events that take place at HCS Prom.

HCS Spirit Week

Spirit Week

Spirit Week is a fun week at HCS. Students get to dress in their favorite costumes and attire to match each day's theme. The dress code varies from Superhero Day to Crazy Hair Day to Pajama Day, and more! Students love participating and brightening the dark winter days with their smiles and laughter during Spirit Week.
